Small towns and villages in The Way: Sarria

Date: 06/02/2020

Sarria is probably one of the most iconic towns of The Way of St. James. The more popular route, the last 100 km of the French Way starts here.

This beautiful and quiet location is well known by its cultural heritage, gothic architecture, touristic activities and traditional gastronomy. Pilgrims will find in Sarria the perfect starting point for finding calm and quiet before starting the journey. While you are there you can't miss its architectonical wonders like the church of Santa Mariña, the convent of La Madalena or Ponte de Áspera,a Roman-style bridge from 12th century.

Apart from the must-see of the city, you can also enjoy nature around Sarria for other entertainments like hiking, trekking, fishing and even horse-back riding.
